YuppiePunk | Aperture Music Podcast #5: Actors Who (Sort of) Sing

Hi, I'm Don Johnson
Welcome to the fifth edition of the YuppiePunk | Aperture Music podcast. From Don Johnson to Joe Pesci, this edition features songs from singin’ celebrities. It’s been a while since we last ‘casted, but we hope you find it was worth the wait. As usual, you can download the songs ala carte below — until they expire — or better yet, so you’ll get new editions whenever we post ‘em. Plus you’ll get to hear the super hot robot-voiced DJ. So let’s get it started. And while we’re at it, let’s get retarded.

John Travolta – “I Don’t Know What I Like About You Baby”
Our sentiments exactly John.

Don Johnson – “The Last Sound Love Makes”
Four words: Finger tapping guitar solo.

Bruce Willis – “Under the Boardwalk”
Too bad Bruce couldn’t have left the demos to this session under something.

Joe Pesci – “Got To Get You Into My Life”
Audio proof that you shouldn’t mix “Good Fellas” with good music.

Leonard Nimoy – “Gentle on My Mind”
William Shatner – “Mr. Tambourine Man”
Going where no men had gone before… or really should ever.

Hulk Hogan – “Hullkster’s Back”
Because the size of one’s muscles has a direct correlation on one’s ability to rap.

Jerry Mathers – “Wind Up Toy”
I think you may have been a little hard on the Beaver there Ward. That song was absolutely adorable.

John Schneider – “The Broken Promised Land”
Not any worse than your average religious country record. Ok well maybe just a little.

Eddie Murphy – “Party All the Time”
Apparently Eddie’s funniness (“Delirious,” anyone?) is in direction opposition to his musicality. In other words, perhaps its time for Eddie’s musical comeback (“Norbit,” anyone?)!

Do these songs sound good? :
